Dreama Powell:
The following abstract of the Last Will and Testament of Anna Gaust/Garett Shiverdecker (1767-1845) came from the book Preble Co., OH, Probate Abstracts Estates & Guardianships, Vol. IV by Anna Gilbert. This book was found in the main branch of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, Akron, Ohio. Note that two children of Michael Shiverdecker, Sr. (1762-1833) and Anna Gaust/Garett Shiverdecker (1767-1845) are not mentioned in this abstract, these children being Rachel Shiverdecker (b. 1806) and Michael Shiverdecker, Jr. (1804-1854).
"#1876 - Anna Shiverdecker - David Young, adm. Surity: Alexander, Perry and Thomas Hapner. Filed 14 Aug 1854. Appraisers: Thomas Hapner, William and John F. Davis. Thomas H. Cusick of Montgomery Co. adm. by 9 March 1838. Anna widow of Michael Shiverdecker died in 1845, leaving childrehn (sic) David Shiverdecker, Elizabeth Hapner, Lucas Shiverdecker, Polly Persinger, Frances Shiverdecker and Catharine Young. Since then David and Frances Shiverdecker and Catharine Young have also died. Thomas Purcell in right of his wife Frances Purcell daughter and heir of David Shiverdecker says on 4 Oct 1849, Thomas Cusick was appointed adm. of David. Cusick sold real estate of David's but failed to make distribution, Cusick has sold his farm in Montgomery Co. and intends to move to IL.
Catharine died sometime in Feb 1854. Elizabeth Hapner, Lucas Shiverdecker and Polly Presinger are the only surviving children. Michael died 3 March 1833, Anna died 24 Aug 1845."

LAND GRANT RECORDS:
In recent research, I found a Northern Neck land grant for Jacob Shiverdeker in Frederick County, Virginia for May 13, 1771. I noticed in the online THE KANAWHA FAMILY TREE PROJECT OCTOBER 07, 2004, Jacob as named as the father of the Michael Shiverdecker who was born in about 1762 in Frederick County, VA. Since not many Shiverdeckers are found in early records, this may be the right Jacob Shiverdecker.
Below are records of land grants issued by the Virginia Land Office (from Archives in Virginia):
On May 13, 1771, Jacob Shiverdeker (grantee) in Frederick County, Northern Neck Grants--120 3/4 acres.
On August 30, 1830, Michael Shiverdecker (grantee) is in Kanawha County land grant records--70 acres.
On November 30, 1838, Luke Shiverdecker (grantee) is in Kanawha County land grant records--304 acres.
On August 2, 1852, Luke Shiverdecker (grantee) is in Kanawha County land grant records--175 acres.
