      Ray F. Smith, 72, of 3712 W. Wrightwood Ave., Chicago, and formerly of Chambersburg, died Thursday, July 6, 1995, at home.
      Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Quantico, Va., he was a son of the late John Francis and Mary Frank Smith.
      A 1941 Graduate of Chambersburg High School, he was a member of the Hi Y club there and played saxophone in the school orchestra, band and marching band.
      Mr. Smith was employed by Zenith Corp., Chicago and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
      He was a Protestant.
      Surviving are two cousins, both of Chambersburg. Preceding him in death were two infant brothers.
      Burial will be Norland Cemetery.
