Cora Louise (McCart) Cockerill (1934 - 2017)
Cora Louise (McCart) Cockerill passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 with her loving husband Gayle Cockerill and daughter Linda at her side.
Cora was born August 14, 1934 in Waldport, OR to Theodore and Myrtle McCart. She had 3 children, Linda of Bend Oregon, Mike of Portland, Oregon and Brian of Washington State.
During the summer of 1946 she and her family moved from Portland, Oregon to Oakridge, Oregon where she began her seventh grade of schooling graduating from Oakridge High in 1952. During the summer of 1946 she met her first boyfriend Gayle Cockerill, later to become her husband. She and her husband owned and operated the Sequim West Inn in Sequim, WA.
Cora loved to fly and obtained her private pilot licence, owning her own Cessna 182. After suffering a stroke and the progession of Alzheimer's disease she and her husband moved back to Harrisburg, Oregon during September 2015.
Survivors include, her daughter, Linda, sons Mike and Brian, grandaughter Rosalynn, sibling Ellen McCart Gualt and husband Gayle Cockerill.
At her wish there is no service planned.
Arrangements entrusted to Andreasons Burial Service in Springfield, Oregon.
