      9. EDWARD DELEGALL7 LAROCHE (JOHN6, JAMES5, JAMES4, JOHN3, JAMES2, JEAN1) was born 03 Aug 1821
and died 02 Oct 1879. He married ELIZABETH ANN JENKINS 26 May 1846, daughter of JOHN JENKINS and ELIZABETH CLARK. She was born 29 Mar 1826, and died 18 Aug 1912 in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Meggett SC.
      Notes for EDWARD DELEGALL LAROCHE:
In 1869 Edward DeLegal LaRoche bought around four hundred acres on the eastern branch of the Toogoodoo River. Edward sold to his brother Richard Jenkins LaRoche about half of the property.
He inherited the "White House" plantation on the Togoodoo from his father. He later sold the house to Dr. Charles Aimar for $4,000.With the money he bought a large tract of land from H.A.M.Smith, located about 3 miles from Younges Island and 2 miles from Meggett, S.C., on the upper branch of the Toogoodoo River. A small creek running in the direction of Laurel Hill divided this property. Edward Delegal kept this property to the east side of the creek and sold the other side to his brother, Richard J. LaRoche. Both brothers built homes on their respective property where they lived until their deaths. Their decendants lived there for many years.
