Robert L. Vandale Sr.
Robert L. Vandale Sr., 89, of Charleston, went to be with the Lord Oct. 15, 2007, at Valley Center after a short illness.
Robert was a retired Chemical Operator for Union Carbide, South Charleston. He was a member of Mountain Mission Church, Charleston. He was also a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine Center, Scottish Rite Temple, and Masonic Lodge 153, Charleston.
He was preceded in death by parents, Rector D. and Margaret Vandale.
Survived by loving wife of 48 years, Arminia Vandale at home; son, Robert Lee Vandale Jr. and wife, Phyllis, of Scott Depot; daughters, Sally Vandale of Charleston, and Kay Vandale of St. Albans; stepson, Fred Mangus and wife, Irene, of Charleston; stepdaughters, Judy Skeen and husband, John, of Parkersburg, Deborah Wilson of Charleston, and Carolyn Chabot of Charleston; sister, Nancy Pippin and husband, Bill, of Charleston; brother, Jim Vandale and wife, Diane, of Greer, S.C.; one grandson; and eight stepgrandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville, with Masonic graveside rites provided by Lodge 153, Charleston.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
