1786: Donald and Catherine MacDonell sailed to North America in 1786 on the ship McDonald or the ship Cochrane. They were probably a part of the MacDonells of Loupe, Scotland. Chief of the clan was Alexander MacAllister of Cromarty, Rosshire or Glen Quoich, Scotland. Donald and Catherine MacDonell settled on "The Branch", Charlottenburg. Located on lot 10, 6th Lancaster, Ontario, Canada.
