Donna E. Walter, 78, of Chambersburg passed away on November 5, 2012, at her home. Born, December 7, 1933, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret Smith Eckels. Donna was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Chambersburg High School. She was employed at Valley Bank as a bank teller and retired from Chambersburg Area School District where she was employed as a computer aide. Donna was a longtime volunteer at Meals on Wheels and at the Chambersburg Hospital. Family and friends were the most important thing in Donna's life. She will be remembered for her influence on many people.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Newcomer and Martha Feldman; and three brothers, Jack, Robert, and Richard Eckels.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sellers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg from 1 until 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary, where Pastor Suzanne Elliott will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donna's name to Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 125 Park Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
