(Information in the Shiverdecker/ Shivertaker Archives was obtained from recollections of Golda Shiverdecker and Ruth (Brown) Hamilton; from research done by Teresa A. (Hrivnak/ Shiverdecker) Betz, Steven J. Hrivnak, Twila (Shiverdecker) Costello, Leslie (Speelman) Finster, Sally (Speelman) Sieffer, Toni Seiler; and from information obtained from numerous family members. Teresa Betz recommends visits to the Garst Museum in Darke Co., OH, which houses historical information of the area and to New Brock Cemetery where many Shiverdecker/ Shivertaker ancestors are buried.)

Mary Ann Weir, age 93 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Thursday May 19, 2016 at Heartland of Centerville Nursing Home in Dayton. She was born on Feb. 21, 1923 in Celina, Ohio to the late Noah & Fairel (Houts) Shiverdecker. She was married to Charles Kenneth Weir for 56 years. (SURVIVORS OMITTED) She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers James Lee, Albert and Eugene Shiverdecker, and son-in-law Ron Homan. She retired from Kroger, and Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina, and Publix in Orange City , Florida. She was Past President of the Celina American Legion Aux. Post #210, a member and Past President of V. F. W. Aux. Post #5713, and served on both the State & National Boards for the Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge. Private family services will be held in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina. The Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Council on Aging Celina. Condolences may be left at Lehmandzendzelfh.com
