      Mrs Della Coatney, 70, died Friday, October 1, at a nursing home in Eudora. She was born September 25, 1912, in Grant Township, Havensville, the daughter of Elie J. and Bessie Roderick Lefebvre. Mrs Coatney was an elementary school teacher. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in 1967. She taught in Western Kansas and taught eight years in Linwood before retiring in 1976. She was married to Ray Coatney on August 6, 1940. He died January 28, 1971. [SURVIVORS OMITTED.] Services were at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Alden-Harrington chapel, Bonner Springs, and at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Ada, Kansas Baptist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Ada.

      RAY COATNEY
      Ray I. Coatney, 55, RR1 Linwood, died Thursday at the VA Center Hospital here.
      Mr. Coatney was born July 29, 1915 at Ada, Kan., and was employed as a cattle salesman for the John Clay Commission Co., Kansas City, Mo. He formerly owned the Bowles Livestock Commission Co. at Kansas City. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Grover Metzger American Legion Post at Kansas City. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Ada and had lived in Linwood 10 years.
      Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Della COATNEY and a son, Jon COATNEY, of the home; another son, Capt. Jeff COATNEY, Linwood; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Montanucci, Topeka, and Mrs. Diane Ezell, Wichita; his mother, Mrs. Mona COATNEY, Ada; a brother, Harlan COATNEY, Minneapolis, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
      The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Ada. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Ada. The body will be at the Quisenberry Funeral Chapel, Tonganoxie, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
