Born in Beckley on Aug. 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Fred Edwin Toney and Mildred Marie Thornton Toney. Mr. Toney was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of Verizon, where he was a cable splicer technician. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Toney loved woodworking, fishing, and was an avid coin collector. He dearly loved his grandchild. He was greatly loved and will always be remembered by (SURVIVORS OMITTED) Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Delmas Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
