Following high school, she attended St. Catherine's College of Kentucky, College of St. Mary and worked as a Medical Technician at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska.

On September 3, 1949, Patricia married Harry E. Cockerill at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm south of Spalding, Nebraska in March of 1950, where they ranched, farmed and raised their children.

Over the years, Patricia also worked as a substitute Medical Technician at St. John's Hospital, Spalding, Nebraska and as a Teacher's Aide at Spalding (NE.) Academy.Patricia was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, St. Anne's Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Study Club and various other women's organizations in Spalding, Nebraska. She spent countless hours as the Spalding (NE) Academy Alumni Newsletter organizer and coordinated various fund raising events.

She opened her home to others as "The Cockerill Roost" Bed & Breakfast and enjoyed providing service to others. Above all, her faith and her family were most important to her.

Obituary of Lucy B. Nelson
Lucy B. Nelson, 82, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully, July 28, 2019 at Jefferson Health Care.

She was born June 22, 1937 in Elizabeth, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (Smith) McCroskey. Graduate of Wirt County High School Elizabeth West Virginia in 1955. Lucy worked at Sheffield Filter for 22 years and Home Health Aid for 19 years, and from 1992 to 1999, Owner of Lucy’s Country Kitchen at Holiday campgrounds, then retiring in 2012.

SURVIVORS OMITTED

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Rice; grandson, Dan Rice and Jason Nelson; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Nelson; and three brothers, Kellis, Gayle, and Ellot.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Zaback- Williams- Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with Pastor Paul McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery in Monroe Twp.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service at 10:30 AM.

Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.

Frank F. Carr
August 23, 1927 - December 27, 2016

Frank Flack Carr, age 89, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Jefferson Healthcare.
He was born August 23, 1927, in Pierpont, Ohio, the son of John A. and Margery (Flack) Carr, and had been a resident of Pierpont his entire life. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He worked for Inland Container in Ashtabula for over 25 years, prior to his employment and retirement from Jefferson Manufacturing.
Frank married the love of his life, Caroline (Tuttle) Carr, on June 4, 1951. They celebrated 64 wonderful years together before her passing on August 24, 2015.
In his free time, Frank enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. His main joy in life, however, came from time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It did not matter what they were doing, as long as he was with them it was time well spent.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Caroline (Tuttle) Carr; brothers, James, John Jr., and Elbridge Carr; and grandson-in-law, Joseph Nowak.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, Friday, Dec. 30th, at WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 1071 SR 7, Pierpont.
A Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31st, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Carr, Interim Pastor of Pierpont Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont.
Contributions may be made to Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 SR 7, Pierpont, Ohio 44082.

Obituary:

Gail Franklin McCroskey, 80, of Parkersburg, formerly a longtime resident of Wirt County, passed away May 13, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Perry, Ohio, a son of the late Albert K. McCroskey and Beatrice Smith McCroskey.

He was retired from Union Carbide where he was a furnace operator; he was also a cabinet maker and was a Wirt County bus driver. He was a member of the Two Ripple Baptist Church.

He is survived by a brother, Kellis H. McCroskey (Nellie) of Belmont, Ohio; and a sister, Lucy B. Nelson of Jefferson, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Wells McCroskey; a son, Paul Michael McCroskey; a brother, Ellet I. McCroskey; and a sister-in-law, Wilma McCroskey.

A tribute to his life will be noon Wednesday at the Busch-Kimes Funeral Home, 836 Washington Street, Elizabeth. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday
