Mary Francis Moody was the daughter of Edward Moody of Essex and Albemarle Co., Virginia. She was born abt. 1740-45 probably in Goochland or Albemarle Co., Virginia. She married Robert Lilly 1759-1763 in Albemarle Co., Virginia. Robert Lily was on later records with at least two of Edward Moody's sons, John and Edmund. Robert Moody, who sometimes is erroneously listed as Mary Moody's father, moved his entire family to North Carolina in 1749, well before Mary married Robert Lilly. Robert Moody and Edward Moody are DNA matches, so they might have been brothers, but EDWARD, not Robert, was the father of Mary Frances Moody Lilly.
(Janice McAlpine: Robert and Ann Moody of Bristol Parish, Prince George Co., Virginia, did have a daughter Frances, but she died November 1732, in Bristol Parish, Prince George Co., Virginia. On an LDS film of Reichelsheim which includes a document entitled "Geburts=Protocoll," it is written that Johann Nicolaus was illegitimate (unehelich), and because of that, the FATHER of Johann Nicolaus Frank is listed as Johann Adam NAGEL who actually is the father of Eva Catharina NAGEL and would actually be the grandfather of Johann Nicolaus Frank. [Jay E. Frank concluded in later research of 12 2005 that Johann Nicolaus Frank's mother Eva Catharina NAGEL's probable filing of intent to marry Johann Nicolaus Frank's father Johann Georg FRANK (b: 9 DEC 1784 in Ober Ostern, Hesse Darmstadt) was made on 30 JUN 1818, but that no marriage took place.]
The last name of the godfather is Hoder (with umlaut over the "o"). The record states that Johann Nicolaus NAGEL [Frank] was born on the 30 Mar 1812 and was baptized on 1 Apr 1812. [Donna Forney Clark: Some sentences were omitted or combined from the original information.]

"History of the Frank Family," a brief family document, compiled by Grayce Stambaugh:
"The family of Nickloes Frank lived in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany, during the years of 1830-1840. Mrs Frank's Father was (?) Rader [ROEDER]. They owned a great deal of land which was very valuable.
Nickloes Frank (surnames unknown) had five children born to them -- Margaret, Peter, Adam, Eva Catherine and Elizabeth. They owned and operated a Hotel or Inn in Hesse Darmstadt.
Early in life death took the father and the mother remarried. In order to avoid conscription of her sons into the German Army, the family came to America. That would have been about 1851. Margaret was 16 years old, Peter was 14 years old, Adam 11 years, Eva Catherine about 8 years and Elizabeth about 6 years old. They also brought two neighbor boys with them. The voyage in a sailboat took six weeks.
From New York they went to Pennsylvania and took up residence at Chambersburg. Not many years afterward the mother died leaving the five children with their step-father. The mother is buried in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Chambersburg. A short time later the stepfather remarried and to them a son was born -- Henry Keil. In due course the Keils decided to move to Iowa. They wanted to take the youngest, Elizabeth, with them but the sisters and brothers would not hear to it and managed to keep all five together in Chambersburg. [Sentence omitted.]"
"The Civil War came along and Adam enlisted. Eva Catherine stayed with a family by the name of Frondoe who were very good to her. She attended the Lutheran Church. It was there that she met her future husband, Wilhelm F. Schmidt. He also served in the Union Army. They were married on a Sunday evening at the parsonage of the First Lutheran Church by the Rev. Rhodes, Pastor. They went to housekeeping in Chambersburg and in 1875 moved to Indiana. Here they built a home and reared their famly.
Adam Frank enlisted on February 5, 1864 and was mustered in at Pottsville, Pa. He served under Captain Frank D. Wetherill's Company F. 3rd Regiment Pa. Vol. Cavalry under the command of Col. J. B. Mcintosh. Comrade Frank shared in the battles of the Wilderness May 5, 1864 - Cold Harbor June 12, 1864, - Boydton Plank Road October 8, 1864 - Thatchers Run October 22 to 28thm 1864.
Taken sick and being unfit for service Adam was Honorably Discharged December 10, 1864 at Petersburg, Va. by reason of Surgeon Certificate of Disability.
After his return, he married Rachel Kell of Roxbury, Pa. Through this union 11 children were born -- James K., Robert L., Maretta B., Ida V., William N., Charles G., the twins - Mary S. and Sadie C., Florence G., Nellie Grace and one daughter Annie Elizabeth who died at the age of 14.
Adam Frank was born April 2, 1840 and died July 20, 1924.
Rachel V. (Kell) Frank was born January 27, 1845 and died March 14, 1901."

1. Anna Elisabetha had not married with her maiden name Röder but with her former married surname Frank.
2. Also, it's now clear that the emigration date of the Frank children, together with their mother and stepfather Johannes Keil, was after the marriage date 26 June 1853.
3. Recommended free site:

Eva Catharina' godmother was Eva Catharina HARTMANN, daughter of Johann Nicolaus HARTMANN citizen of Klein Gumpen, Hesse Darmstadt.
Eva Catharina is listed as the daughter of Johann Adam NAGEL of Laudenau, Hesse Darmstadt, in the birth record of Johann Nicolaus FRANK.
She was confirmed in the Reichelsheim Evangelisch Kirche in 1805. The record also listed that she died in 1828.
Johann Nicolaus was listed as her first illegitimate child, a son, and Margaretha Elisabetha was listed as her second illegitimate child, first daughter. The birth record of Margaretha Elisabetha also recorded that the parents filed and intent to marry on 20 Jun 1818.
When her death was recorded she was listed as being 35 years old and there was no indication that she had ever been married as she was listed as a NAGEL. Her brothers served as witnesses at her death as they did at their fathers death.

He was born at 5 in the evening. Johann Georg's godfather was Johann Georg HÖRR, son of Johann Peter HÖRR citizen of Ober Ostern, Hesse Darmstadt.
Johann Georg was confirmed in the church in 1798 and was listed as being from the village of Ober Ostern, Hesse Darmstadt.
He was married on 26 Aug 1828 to Anna Barbara PFEIFFER. HE MARRIED ANNA BARBARA WHEN HE WAS 44 YEARS OLD.
Johann Nicolaus was listed in his baptism record as the first illegitimate child of Eva Catharina NAGEL and of Johann Georg FRANK. Margaretha Elisabetha was listed in her birth record as the second illegitimate child of Eva Catharina NAGEL and of Johann Georg FRANK, the son of Valentin FRANK. That record also listed that parents filed an intent to marry on 30 Jun 1818.
Johann FRANK, born in 1819 in his baptism record, was listed as the first illegitimate child of Anna Barbar PFEIFFER, daughter of the deceased Johann PFEIFFER, and Johann Georg FRANK, son of Valentin FRANK.
Johann Valentin, born in 1825 in his baptism record, was listed as an illegitimate child of Anna Barbara PFEIFFER and Johann Georg FRANK, son of Valentin FRANK.
These birth records convince me that the Johann Georgs associated with Eva Catharina NAGEL and Anna Barbara PFEIFFER are the one and the same. I could find no other children of Eva Catharina, but there may still be some, because I was not able to find the birth of Johann Michael, who was attributed to Anna Barbara in the Familienbuch. There may have been some issue with Eva Catharina after the birth of Margaretha Elisabetha that caused Johann Georg to begin a relationship with Anna Barbara and finally be able to marry her after Eva Catharina dies in 1828.

Notes for NICHOLAS SKEELS:
Nicholas Skeels - born in Maryland about 1783 (1850 Census, Tuscarawas., Co., Ohio)
His first Wife was Rebecca Scribner of Maryland. She died before 1808 leaving Nicholas with one daughter, Rebecca.
He married Elizabeth Harding in Frederick County, MD July 19, 1808. (Marriage Record)
His family resided in Ann Arundel Co., MD in 1810 (1810 Census)
The family moved with some of Herrons family plus brothers Isaac and William to Jeff Co., Ohio in 1812
Nicholas was a soldier in the War of 1812.
In 1824 land records show a Nicholas Skeels purchasing land in Jefferson Co., and Carroll Co.
Index for 1830 census shows a Nicholas Skeels residing in Warren Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio.
In 1835 Nicholas successfully sued the widow and children of John Crough of Tuscarawas Co., (Bill of complaint in favor of Nicholas Skeels)
In 1843 Nicholas married Julia Wright who had two children. I assume that Elizabeth had probably died by then (Marriage Records]
In 1845 a daughter, Julia Ann Skeels, was born to Nicholas and Julia (1850 Census)
In 1850 Nicholas was living in Tuscarawas Co., with his wife, two step - children, and one daughter
We are not sure what happened to Nicholas from here.
It is possible his father William Skeels might have been born in England. It is possible that there is an earlier William who was born in England and had a son named William born in the Colonies - this is really still up in the air.
