Melissa Hennigar Parrish:
"Looking for descendants of William Ault, born 1808 in Washington Co., Penn, and his wife, Susan Fouts, born 1810 in Montgomery Co., Ohio. They had 10 proven children: David, b. ca.1830, married Eliza Teabo; Noah, b. ca. 1832, married Catharine Lahrer; Frederick Ault, b. March 5, 1833, married Hester Ann Williams; Sarah Ann, b. Dec. 27, 1836, married John Zentmyre; Jacob, b. Aug. 5, 1838, married Rachel Ann Baldwin; Wilson, b. ca. 1840; Jesse, b. April 1, 1842, married Malissa A. Jones; John, born Jan. 31, 1844, married Josephine Sibrell; Penina Jane, b. April 1848, married Isaac Shriner; and Amanda Ella, b. Sept. 21, 1851, married Joseph Baer. Possible children include Isaac Ault, born Aug. 29, 1828, married Priscilla Jane Hagerman and William R. Ault, born ca. 1850. At this time it is believed that William R. is actually a grandson, and the son of Isaac and Priscilla.
These people lived in Montgomery and Darke Co., Ohio and Cass, Howard, and Tippecanoe Co., Indiana."

Melissa Hennigar Parrish:
Melissa Hennigar Parrish's research of the Ault and Shriner families and research involving the relationship of Sarah Ann Ault to John Zentmyre was done in conjunction with Jane Hooper Smith.
"John Zentmyre, who married Sarah Ann Ault was the son of John Zentmyre and Elenor "Nellie" Shriner. Elenor "Nellie Shriner had a brother, John Shriner Jr. who married Jane Reed. Their son Isaac Shriner married Peninah Jane Ault, sister to the Sarah Ann Ault who married John Zentmyre Jr. So John Zentmyre Jr. and Isaac Shriner were first cousins and the two of them married sisters. The Zentmyres and Aults must have met over in Ohio, probably Montgomery or Darke County. When William Ault first settled in Indiana (Cass County) around 1855 his daughter Sarah and John Zentmyre were probably already married. I have not however found their marriage record in either Ohio or Indiana. William Ault was a United Brethren minister and he and some of his sons helped to start the first United Brethren Church in Galveston, Cass Co., Indiana in 1856.
In the 1860's, William and Susan Ault moved to Tippecanoe County. Their son Jacob and his new wife, Rachel also made the move as did the minor children in William's household. Sons Noah and Frederick stayed in Cass county and daughter Sarah Zentmyre was living in White County I believe. William and his family first settled in Wabash Township of Tippecanoe County close to Fort Ouiatenon. This is where they were living when Peninah Jane married Isaac Shriner in 1866. Both Isaac and Peninah Ault Shriner are buried in the Sand Ridge Cemetery Sand Ridge Cemetery across the road from the fort along with his parents and many siblings.
By 1870 William and Susan had moved to Washington Township of Tippecanoe County, close to or even in the village of Transitville, now called Buck Creek."

Letter, dated February 19, 1904, to Richard P. Dehart, Judge, announcing the death of John Zentmyre (b. September 27, 1829) on February 15, 1904. This letter appears in the document section of this website. Melissa Hennigar Parrish scanned the original document from the John Zentmyre probate/estate file which came from the Alameda McCullough Library at the Genealogy and Research Center of the Tippecanoe County Historical Association in Lafayette, Indiana. TCHA is online at http://www.tcha.mus.in.us/ and is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving information and artifacts relating to the history and culture of Tippecanoe, Indiana, and its citizens. It currently maintains the Moses Fowler House, the Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum, Fort Ouiatenon Blockhouse at Fort Ouiatenon Historic Park, and the Genealogy and Research Center. Memberships and requested research are available for a fee.

Jerry Landers:
The Dysart name probably comes from the town of Dysart located next to Kirkcaldy on the Firth of Fourth in Scotland. The town is a "Royal Burgh" seaport and has been around since at least the 13th century. The Dysarts emigrated to Northern Ireland around the 17th century then various family members traveled to the colonies around 1740 or so.

History of Franklin County, Pennsylvania, p. 800. Chicago, IL: Warner, Beers & Co.,1887, pgs., 800-801
D. C. RHODES, blacksmith, Stoufferstown, P. O. Chambersburg, was
born in Franklin County, January 21, 1847, a son of Christian and Martha
(Metz) Rhodes, natives of Pennsylvania, and of English and German origin,
respectively. In early life Christian Rhodes was a miller, later a farmer; his
family consisted of five sons and four daughters, of whom D. C. is the sixth
child. Our subject grew to manhood in his native county, and was educated
in the district school. At the age of seventeen he commenced to learn the
blacksmith's trade, which he followed one year. In 1866 he enlisted in the
United States Regular Army, and served three years, two and a half of which
he was orderly sergeant of the company which served among the Indians in
the West. At the close of his term of service he returned to Chambersburg,
completed his apprenticeship, and has since worked at his trade in Stouffers-
town. He does all the work on the wagons made here, also on farming imple-
ments manufactured in the town, and usually employs two blacksmiths. In
1870 he married Maggie, daughter of Samuel Disert, Sr., who was born in
Cumberland County, Penn., September 16, 1812, a son of Samuel and Margaret
(Au) Disert, who were also natives of Pennsylvania and of German and Irish
origin. Mr. Disert is a prominent farmer in this township. Mr . and Mrs.
Rhodes have two children: D. Frank and H. Edgar. Mr. Rhodes is a mem.
ber of the I. O. O. F. . and an active and energetic Republican. | Disert, Margaret Deborra "Maggie" (I0069)
