      Donna Forney Clark:
      These words sat framed on my father's desk for the last years of his life:

      I've done my work; I've sung my song.
      I've done some good; I've done some wrong.
      Now I must go where I belong.
      The Lord has willed it so.

      He knows my soul, so weak and blind,
      So full of fears of mortal mind
      And He will lead and I shall find
      The way to him I know.

      And so good night I'll take my rest
      Where sweet wild roses grow.

      I've done my work, I've sung my song,
      I've done some good, I've done some wrong,
      And I shall go where I belong;
      The Lord has willed it so.
      He knows my heart and ev'ry thought,
      He knows what paing and joy I've brought;
      And by His love I shall be taught
      The way to Hymn I know.

      History of Hazelwood Christian Church, Hazelwood, IN:
      Year
      1905-1910 In 1905, two acres were bought for $200 to build a church. On March 10, 1909, a little band of Christians met in the I.O.O.R.M. Hall at Hazelwood for the purpose of constituting a Church of Christ. On May 11, 1909, the women formed "Aid Society" which later became the Martha's Aid. An agreement for the church was then established. The church building was officially dedicated in October, 1910.
      1943-1949 Hazelwood Christian Church was established as a full time church on October 25, 1943, with Brother Forney as the first full time minister. From this point on, there was preaching every Sunday. On December 11, 1949, the parsonage was dedicated.
      1960 - 1979 The west addition was built on the 1910 building which was used as a nursery, Sunday School classroom, and later offices for Steve Ranson, who began ministering here May 20, 1979.
      1981-1989 Parking area to the south was purchased (1981) and 2 acres to the east was purchased (1984) . Then a new sanctuary (currently our chapel) was built and dedicated on October 6, 1985. In 1987, the 1910 building was remodeled to make classrooms and added youth/children's minister to staff. Dedicated remodeled classrooms March 1, 1987.
      1990-1998 New fellowship hall was built mostly by volunteer labor and dedicated in 1990. In 1991, the church purchased the property east of the church which currently includes the "Littell House," used to house missionaries here on furlough or in need of temporary housing. The congregation had grown so much by 1995 that we split the position of youth minister into two areas: Youth and Children; thus adding another position of children's minister to the staff. Then in 1996, we purchased two acres and barn to the north of the church. Work began in 1998 on our new worship building.
      2000 - 2010 First service in new worship building on Palm Sunday, April 16, 2000. Worship building includes several new classrooms, as well as a Prayer Room. We then added the position of worship minister to our staff. The 1910 building and parsonage were demolished in 2006 to make room for the new Children's Wing, dedicated in 2007. Also in 2007, we added a Discipleship Minister to the HCC staff. In 2008, our last building project - a new office complex - was built to the east of the fellowship hall debt-free. It was dedicated in 2009. We now have over 23 acres. One of the houses is a missions' guesthouse and the other house serves as the headquarters for the National Missionary Convention.
