      NANCY LEE CALLAHAN

      Nancy Lee Callahan of Potosi, Missouri was born Friday, March 28, 1902 in Richwoods, Missouri, a daughter of the late John William and Mary Liza (Hicks) Turntine. Nancy died on Sunday, April 18, 1999 at the Potosi Manor at the age of ninety-seven years and twenty-one days.

      Nancy was united in marriage to Henry Callahan March 3, 1918 in Washington County, Missouri, Mr. Callahan preceded his wife in death on September 30, 1929.

      [SURVIVORS OMITTED.] In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bertha Walls, two sons, John Edward and Leonard Carter Callahan, two sisters, Lousia Elizabeth Turntine and Rachel Emmeline Turntine, seven brothers, James Richard Turntine, George Elzie Turntine, Sidney Elvert Turntine, Joseph Lasley Turntine, David Lanso Turntine, Earnest Turntine and John Larry Turntine.

      Nancy was a kind and loving woman with the thoughts of other people first in her life. She was dedicated to the family farm for many years. She loved to work in her flower garden.

      Nancy had a great love for people and was always willing to care for the sick, both family and friends.

      Visitation was held Wednesday, April 21, 1999 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Gum and Son Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

      Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gum and Son Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Bullock officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Perry Call, Dennis Evans, Mike Troxel, Richie Troxel, Alva Sapp, Roy Callahan and Don Carter. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery under the direction of the Gum and Son Funeral Homes, Inc., Potosi, Missouri.
