    Letter concerning Richard Herron & Mary Skeels Herron & Nicholas Herron & Isaiah Herron & Antinette Herron & Samuel Ryan & Nicholas Skeels & Isaac Skeels & William Skeels II came from Ginger White. The letter is filed with the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society (P.O. Box 141, New Philadelphia, OH 44663), and is dated June 4, 1946, originally having been sent to Mrs. Scott and Walter, signed by J. T. Ryan.

      Information came from Richard E. Skeels. It originally appeared in Skeels Family History 1720-1980 (which includes the text of a hard back bound book, compiled and printed by George W. Roof in 1903 in Albion, IN). Important contributors to Section II of the above text were: Hazel Brown McCollough & Mrs. J. Harry Kidwell & Mrs. Edmund Schafer & Col. Mortimer Bennet. Kenton M. Kidd organized and compiled the combined three book edition of Skeels Family History 1720-1980. Part of the earlier books were set in type at South Side Press by Wayne Favinger, aged 15 yrs:
      Name, dates, & places
      "William Skeels II was born in Maryland. He was married to Rachel Herron, near Baltimor. His wife was of Scottish descent. From Maryland they removed to Jefferson county,[sic] Ohio, and settled near Steubenville. He died in that county in 1824 and his widow remained as such for thirty years."
