Emma Jane Peacock, daughter of Francis and Ethelina Peacock, was born near New Frankfort, Scott County, Indiana, February 2, 1859. She was married to Charles E. Mitchell, of New Frankfort, Jan 6, 1883. They moved west in 1884 and have made their home in Washington State for 22 years.
(TEXT OMITTED) departed this life Sept. 15, 1909 (TEXT OMITTED). She leaves a husband five sons and two daughters, who will miss her greatly. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. N. S. Belch of this place, her only brother, Abner Peacock, of Jennings County, two half sisters, Mrs. Amy Chandler, of Franklin, and Mrs. Carrie Blunt, of this place, and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was a most amiable and loving disposition, which her friends and relatives will always remember.
The deceased was formerly one of Scott County's prominent and efficient school teachers.
