Haines, Baker County, Oregon
Memorial services for Fayette Millard Bach, 66, Haines, who died at St. Elizabeth hospital Monday afternoon, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. (PST) at The Beatty Chapel.
Baker Lodge No. 47, AF and AM will officiate. The body will then be taken to Portland Tuesday for cremation.
Mr. Bach, a retired employee of the Union Pacific railroad, was born in Slayton, Minn., on April 10, 1895, and had been a resident of Haines since 1944.
He moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bach, from Minnesota to Mt. Home, in 1908, and was married to Edna Maude Boyer on March 2, 1918, in Mt. Home.
Mr. Bach served with the Army during World War I and worked as a telegrapher for UPRR more than 20 years. He moved to Haines, Ore., in 1944 where he was employed on the section until his retirement in April of 1959. Mr. Bach was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cascade, Ida., and AF & AM Lodge.
Survivors are his widow, Edna of Haines; a son, T-Sgt. Charles E. Bach of Loring AFB, Me.; four daughters, Catherine Hoopii of Honolulu, Hawaii, Francis I. Brown of Spokane, Wash., Edna F. Gawith of Baker and Carol A. Bach of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Bill of Lakeview and Jack of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Lucille Harriman of Duran, Saudi Arabia, Barbara Richardson of Spokane, Wash., and Ellen Erdle of Boise, Ida.; 13 grandchildren ; a great grandson; many nieces and nephews.
