KAMILOS, E. George
Oct 1, 1920 - May 17, 2014
George was born in Lodi, California to Peter and Ruby Kamilos. He lived in Sacramento his entire life and was in the first graduating class of C.K. McClatchy High School. He played football at the two year Davis (now UC Davis) Agricultural College prior to entering the US Marine Corps during World War II. George served as a Master Tech Sergeant in the US Marine Air Corps. He served in the Pacific Theatre including Guadalcanal and several other islands. His time in the Marine Corp was always a source of great pride for him and he attended many reunions with his squadron over the years. He married Joyce Pauline Hansen in 1944 and they had four children. She passed away unexpectedly in 1966. He owned and operated Beavis Meat Co. in the Public Market in downtown Sacramento for many years. He was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge and the Elks. George met the second love of his life, (SURVIVOR'S NAME OMITTED), and they married in 1970. They spent the next 44 wonderful years together enjoying life, traveling, and playing many rounds of golf. George was preceded in death by his brother, Petro. (SURVIVORS OMITTED). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sutter Hospice who made his final days so comfortable. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Semper Fi George, Semper Fi
