Benjamin R. George II
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Benjamin R. George II, 79, of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of St. Thomas, Pa., died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 1, 1922, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Chambers and Ida Frank George.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Pete" Doerner George, in 1997.
He was employed as a truck driver and dispatcher for T.M. Zimmerman Co.; and worked as a dairy farmer for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring.
He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
SURVIVORS OMITTED
He was preceded in death by one son, Benjamin R. George III; and two sisters, Lucy Kegerreis and Margaret Derbyshire.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring. The Revs. William H. Harter and Linda B. Harter will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial donations may be made to Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary, 201 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
