PAMPLICO — Leo Red Hicks, 72, of Pamplico departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at home with his family by his side. He passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He now joins his heavenly Father.
Red as he was called, was a devoted Christian and family man. He was born Jan. 3, 1936, to the late Thad Hicks and Marie Reddick Hicks in the Friendfield community of Florence County. He served one term as councilman for the Town of Pamplico, was a member of American Legion Post No. 98, the Disabled American Veterans and had served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Leo Hicks Jr. and Ricky Glenn Hicks, and by a brother, John Henry Hicks.

A loving and caring husband and father, (SURVIVORS OMITTED)
