Mrs. Turner was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Stanley and Florrie Stone Hicks. She was the oldest member of Prospect United Methodist Church and was proud to be the Matriarch of her church. She was a member of the Prospect UMW and was an avid baker. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. SURVIVORS OMITTED. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Doll Turner, who passed away on Sept. 10, 1992, with whom she would have celebrated 71 years of marriage on April 30, 2014; her son, David Richard Turner, and her brothers, Gene Hicks, Alvis Hicks, Julian Hicks, Herman Hicks and Joseph Hicks. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday March 30, 2014 at Prospect United Methodist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:30-8:30 PM at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1256 Big Swamp Road, Pamplico, SC, 29583.Please sign the online tribute wall at www.stoudenmiredowling.com.
