He was a veteran of the US Navy having received the WWII Victory Medal during his service from 1947 - 1950. He retired from Horne Ford after 33 years of service and was an active member of Prospect United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Nathan Miller and brothers, Eugene, Herman, Julian and Joseph Hicks. SURVIVORS OMITTED. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hicks Family Cemetery Memorial Fund, 1711 Raven Drive, Florence, SC 29505. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Prospect United Methodist Church in Hyman.
