      OBITUARY

      Norma Jean Barrett
      4 SEPTEMBER, 1929 – 13 MARCH, 2017

Jeannie was born on September 4, 1929 to Daniel B. and Mable Mary Gentry in Kansas City, MO.

She was next to the youngest of seven children: Irene, Eadie, Doris, Miles, Johnny, and Bobby. All have preceded her in death, as well as her great granddaughter, Katherine Hope Frater.

Jeannie and her loving husband, SURVIVOR'S NAME OMITTED, recently celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.

      SURVIVORS OMITTED.

Jeannie was very outgoing and adventurous. As a young teenager during the depression, she earned money for her family by performing as a trapeze artist with a local circus. During World War II, she performed with the USO as a dancer.

She and her husband lived in Kansas, Seattle, Texas and Europe.

She was wonderfully creative and industrious: cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and woodworking.

While living in Brussels, Belgium in the 1970’s, she enjoyed studying French cooking. She was a gifted gourmet cook and could taste a dish in a restaurant and replicate it at home, often improving on the recipe.

Her greatest love was fishing for lake trout and for salmon in the Puget Sound. With husband SURVIVOR'S NAME OMITTED at the helm, Jeannie baited hooks for everyone. At the end of the day she prepared the catch in gourmet style.

Jeannie is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of us until we join her in heaven.
