      J. ALDERMAN OBITUARY

      J.Wade Alderman, Sr.
      Mr. Alderman, 77, of Charlotte, died at Pineville Rehabilitation Center Sunday, October 15, 2006 surrounded by his family.
      He was born March 26, 1929, in Mt. Airy, NC, the son of the late Noah & Edna Benge Alderman.

      Mr. Alderman was a graduate of Georgia State University and was a real estate broker. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of Wedgewood Baptist Church in Charlotte.

      Mr. Alderman hobbies were reading, playing the guitar and singing. An accomplished performer, Mr. Alderman started playing the guitar at 11 years old. He had played in several bands including the original Woody and the Woodchucks. He still performed regularly and was recently awarded the gold medal in the senior games. He imparted his love of music to his sons (NUMBER OF SONS OMITTED). Mr. Alderman was a member of the Book Ends Book Club and the Drama Group.

      Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 12:00 PM in the Hankins and Whittington Dilworth Chapel with Dr. Reverend Chris Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

      The family would like to acknowledge the assistance of the staff at Pineville Rehabilitation Nursing Home and Hospice & Palliative Care.

      In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region 1420 E. Seventh St. Charlotte, NC. 28204 or Wedgewood Baptist Church 4800 Wedgewood Dr. Charlotte, NC 28210.
