He was born April 28, 1930 in Leet, WV a son of the late John and Murtha Toney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Toney; one great- granddaughter, Melody Christian; three sisters, Viola Hughes, Willia Adkins, Reabel Toney; and seven brothers, Millard, Blutcher, Sidney, Bill, Lawerence, John, and Keenan. Pete was an avid hunter, he enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed telling stories of the old days. SURVIVORS OMITTED. Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Toney Family Cemetery in Harts, WV. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Carson Toney, Doug Skeens, Rex Toney, Justin Norman, Grant Maynard, and Alec Stowers. Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
