Her favorite roses were Double Dip Rose (yellow and peachy color), Angel Face Rose (lavender color) and Don Juan Rose. She was the best sister in the world.

Donna Forney Clark:
My mom, sister Fredde-jo, and I were living in Clarks Hill, IN, while our dad was in the Korean War. At age seven, my sister Fredde-jo was the world's greatest tomboy. She always sported a red baseball cap and puff sleeve dresses that looked like she'd worn them in some kind of uncomfortable local wrestling match. Most often her red hair was in a disarray of curls, and her face was flushed on account of the predicaments she'd got herself into. One day after she spied a clump of wild strawberries on the other side of a neighbor's log fence, she was up and over the fence in seconds and was running at full speed through Indiana clover toward the berries. She'd barely arrived at the strawberry site, when out of the corner of her eye she beheld a bunch of pigs charging straightaway toward her. Immediately, she turned on her heels and began careening toward the fence like a train without an engineer . Because I was eight years old and didn't have the smarts to develop a quick plan to divert the angry pigs, I showed support by jumping up and down and yelling at her to run faster. After visible huffing and puffing, Fredde-jo finally leaped the fence with what seemed like a single bound. Breathing hard, she then stood on the safe side of the fence, her hands on her hips, looking at the disappointed, yet still riled and snorting, pigs. But being one who never denied reality, she then wiped her brow, adjusted her ball cap, screwed up her face like a hundred year old mountain man and said, in all seriousness, "Them damn pigs wanted to honk me out of there."
