"William Henry Coatney 23 April 1845 28 May 1920, enlisted at Davenport Iowa on, 15 June 1864, into service with the, Iowa 5th Cavalry, Company D. He served until the completion of the War, being mustered out in Nashville Tennessee, on, 08 August 1865."
