She was born on the Brandywine near the site of the Revolutionary battle, on February 29, 1812. She moved to Ohio when a child. She married William Skeels in 1831 and they came to Noble County in 1843. In 1871-2 they removed to Cloud County, Kansas, where in April 1885, the husband died at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 17 days. The widow returned to be near and with her children. She leaves 7 children, Sarah, wife of William Storey, Rebecca, wife of Henry L. Brown, Rachel, wife of William C. Arthur, Mary, wife of John N. Busz, Elizabeth, wife of George W. Roof, David and William Skeels; and several grand and great-grandchildren. Funeral Tuesday. Burial, Albion cemetery. Democrat 2-29-1888
