      Melissa Hennigar Parrish:
"... in the 1860 Georgia census in Gordon County, Oothcalooga township (P.O. Calhoun, p. 6). The make up of the family was this:
John W. Barton, age 30, born in South Carolina. Occupation - farm laborer.
Martha A. Barton, age 30, born in Georgia. Occupation - domestic. [This is probably an census error for Martha A. Barton's age.)
Sarah E. Barton, age 10, born Georgia
Malinda C. Barton, age 7, born Georgia
Sanford H. Barton, age 6, born Georgia
Mary A. Barton, age 3, born Georgia
Martha M. Barton, age 2, born Georgia
Hester A. Barton, age 1/12, born Georgia."

"Hester [Barton] appeared in Indiana ... [in] 1870. I found her living near Brookston, Indiana (White Co., Prairie township, p. 262 B. Note that Brookston is just north of Battleground.) She is listed in the household of William and Malinda Robinson, ages 26 and 18.... Malinda is born in Georgia. .... the marriage records prove that this was Malinda Barton Robinson, Hester's sister. Malinda Barton married William Robinson on January 13, 1870 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana."
