      Text :
1101. FORREST5 HENRY STOCKTON, ninth child of James C. and Catherine (Miller) Stockton, was born Jan. 20, 1882, at Round Grove, Ind. He grew up on the farm, and graduated from the high school at Monticello, Ind., in 1904. He attended Purdue University for one year. He then taught school for a year. He was married Aug. 20, 1906, to MARGARET BENNETT. In the year 1906 he and his brother Emmett bought the Seeger Transfer Company, in Lafayette, and run it until the year 1914, when they sold out both their transfer and livery stock. Mr. and Mrs. Stockton and their child moved to Ralls, Texas, where they lived for one year. In 1916 they moved to Chico, Texas, where they lived on a ranch of 1,400 acres where he engaged in the buying and selling of stock and the grazing of a large number of cattle. On the 24th day of October, 1918, Mrs. Stockton died of the "flu", having born him two children. He then returned to Lafayette, Ind. On Oct. 28, 1918, he repurchased the Seeger Transfer Company, and is still the owner of the property. On Aug. 20, 1919, he was united in marriage to Mrs. OPAL HARRIS. She is an excellent woman and was the mother of one child by her former marriage to S. E. Harris. They own a beautiful home at 620 South Tenth Street, and are active members of the First Christian Church of that city. Politically they are Democrats.
