Information: Martha Alice (Miller) King (grandmother) was born July 24, 1866, in Raymond City, Putnam Co. WV. daughter of James A. Miller and Mary A. (Clinton) Miller. She was the oldest of nine children. Her brothers and sister were: Tolitha A.; Vincent A.; James A.; Mildred O.; Ira H.; Lee L.; Clara D. ; and Cardia C. She was sweet seventeen when she met and married our grandfather as we learn from her poem of her love. It was written when she was 77. She liked to read her Bible and write; it is because of her writing that we are able to learn something about her marriage, life, family and her all consuming illness, rheumatoid arthritis which struck at age 55. She died March 24, 1947 in Robson, Fayette Co. WV. four months short of her 82nd birthday. She is buried in the Rose Cemetery at Mulberry in Fayette Co. next to her husband.
