Nelson, 81, of Lewisburg-Ozias Road, Lewisburg, died Thursday, Feb. 19, after an extended illness. Born March 26, 1916, in Catoosa (Morgan County), Tenn., he was the son of Grover F. and Clara A. (Farmer) Nelson. He had lived in Lewisburg since 1951. Mr. Nelson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired in 1979 from Delco Moraine (GM) after 29 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Geneva R. (Bonham) Nelson [OTHER SURVIVORS OMITTED] He was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Farrell Nelson, in 1986; grandsons, Matthew Michael Nelson, in 1981, and Ricky Bowman, in 1981. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 23, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. James Whorton officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Born Jan. 13, 1922, in Shady Grove, Tenn., she was the daughter of Felix G. and Elvira (Howard) Bonham. She had lived in Lewisville from 1951 to 1999. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. "Fred" Nelson, in 1998; grandchildren, Matthew M. Nelson and Ricky Bowman, both in 1981, and Rebecca Lewis in 1998; brothers, Olla Bonham, Lloyd Bonham, Edgar Bonham and Vester Bonham; sisters, Susie Nance and Ella Alley.
