Georgia Cecil Weeth Ross
Beloved mother and grandmother Georgia Cecil Weeth Ross of Vancouver passed away at the age of 95 April 12, 2013, in Vancouver.
She was born May 8, 1917, in Gridley, Butte County, Calif., to George Charles Weeth and Myrtle May Johnson. She was graduated from Corcoran High School in Kings, Calif., in 1935 as class valedictorian. She enjoyed living near family in Longview for 22 years. (SURVIVORS' NAMES OMITTED.)
Georgia was kind and gentle, sharing, and family oriented. She was a homemaker, a great cook and an amazing seamstress, making many clothing items for grandbabies. She was creative with all kinds of crafts and a wonderful artist, giving many paintings to those in her family. She kept in good health by swimming laps at the YMCA. Georgia was an excellent gardener, and with the help of her husband Jerry, she cared for many beautiful flowers and trees in their yard. It was a peaceful and pleasant place for all. Many family gatherings were enjoyed at her home.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending church in the Longview and Vancouver areas. In Longview she had many friends and especially enjoyed working in the library with her friend Birdie. She also regularly attended church with her daughter (SURVIVOR'S NAME OMITTED) in Vancouver.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. "Ed" Trimble; her second husband, Gerald "Jerry" Ross; and was the last of nine siblings, Eugene, Minnie, Ruby, Waldo, Lottie, Vida, Martha, and Gertrude Weeth.
She had a poor but rich heritage of hard-working family members who immigrated to America from Northern Europe in the mid-1850s to seek a better way of life, always moving west. She grew up in a boarding house in Corcoran, Calif., run by her mother, after her father was killed in a farm accident in Gridley, Calif. Her sense of the importance of family came from the tight family bond centered on work and service to each other. Georgia will be greatly missed by all her family.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
