Obituary for Forest E. Long
Forest Edward "Ed" Long peacefully passed away at home on July 21, 2014. He was surrounded by family, friends and animals.
He was born to the late Forest and Edna Long on November 5, 1929 in Lore City, Ohio.
Ed was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, PaPaw, friend and coach.
He devoted over 30 years to Woodbridge Little League and was honored with a ball field at Veterans Park named "Ed Long Field". He touched many young men's lives during those 30 years, and many who have come forward to thank him for his guidance and love.
Ed spent countless hours lovingly researching our family genealogy. Something he took great pride in because of his devotion, he has left his family a lasting legacy.
He gave 20 years of service to the United States Air Force. After that, he gave 20 years to the United States Marine Corp as a civilian.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Mae of 56 years, OTHER SURVIVORS OMITTED sons Greg "deceased" and SURVIVORS OMITTED.
To honor Ed's wishes, funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the organization of your choice or to the family.
