      Ray Coatney

      Ray D. Coatney of Miami died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after an illness. He was 92.
      Mr. Coatney was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Nowata to Norris and Annie (Wigger) Coatney. He had lived in Miami since 1946, moving from Nowata.
      He served in the Marines during World War II. He had worked at Westco as a recapper for several years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miami.
      He married Marie (Cowan) Coatney. She preceded him in death in 2003.
      Mr. Coatney was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

      Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Miami with the Rev. Rick Longcrier officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mevay, Paul Williams, Reed Williams, Marion Gladden , Leslie McCord, Bob Hunt and Clef Wilken. Interment will be at Nowata Cemetery in Nowata.
      Services are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
