The description of the location of the Coatney Farm which follows came from a handwritten ledger by Thomas Jefferson Coatney, September 24, 1890: The Coatney farm is situated 3 1/2 miles straight east of Little York, Washington County, Indiana, and is the W 1/4 of the N E 1/4 of sec 15 town range of Findlay Township, Scott County, Indiana.
